Skills North East Training

How many of us would love to improve our skills but evening classes or an Open University course appears to be the only answer due to working either full or part time. All of which costs money and during the current economic climate or “Credit Crunch” as some like to call it, to use your hard earned cash to pay for further education is basically a No No.

That’s where Skills North East can help, offering a number of opportunities for individuals working full or part time wishing to improve their skills in Numeracy and Literacy Skills whether it be for personal reasons or wanting to improve their job prospects.

Through the national accredited Skills 4 Life and Train 2 Gain programmes, we can offer qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy from entry level as well as NVQ’S in Business Administration, Customer Services and IT Users.
The Training Unit is based at Wansbeck Business Park in Ashington, Northumberland and is headed by local guy Michael Winship. Michael who hales from Morpeth is all too keen to bring something of real value to the community and said “here we have opportunities that some people would never have dreamed about embarking on”, helping their skills and confidence to improve their lifestyle and job prospects.

Supporting Michael is local lass Angela Ballance from Bedlington said “it gives me a real buzz to see people come through the door and excel with Skills North East”, “peoples characters change drastically when they leave us to when they joined us”, “ it’s like they have a renewed confidence in themselves, which is great when looking to further their careers”.

All expenses for the candidates are paid for by Sills North East.
